I was hoping to get some great pictures of the lunar eclipse. But the weather did not agree with me! This is what I got instead:

I've seen so many great pictures lately taken against a brick wall that I thought I would try one myself. :) It was horribly cloudy so very hard to get catchlights. I think I've figured out what I need to do on that one with a reflector. I am having some difficulty on my color though. I posted this picture on another board and didn't realize how drab it was until someone corrected it. How is the color on here and what do you do to make your color pop? I use paintshop pro.

I'm very disappointed with this shot. I know the sun was very bright and I shot at the wrong time of day. But the snow looks very contrasty and I'm not sure exactly why. This picture didn't turn out as I had envisioned. I used my 28-200mm lens with a polarizer filter and lens hood. Any ideas?

It has been so snowy lately that I am going crazy! Here is a little garden fixture sitting by his cold self in the snow. I can't wait until spring.

I know the theme is flowers...but there is not a flower around me! We woke up to another snow day today due to the cold weather and a beautiful sheet of ice on the outside of our bedroom windows. I know I shouldn't be happy about this-but we will have the windows replaced this spring and for now I was enjoying the beauty. I don't have a good macro lens. These were done with my 28-200. What do you think? I played around with saturation and hue to make the dark blues in the background.

My challenge today was to keep trying to get more shots in focus than out of focus. I was so excited that it worked!!! The lighting was great. I took note of the time (12 pm) so I could use that sort of light again. I was so excited that all the pictures taken at that time had both eyes in focus and great color. I just calibrated my monitor again yesterday so please tell me what you think of color, composition and focus...ok-EVERYTHING! Thanks! ETA: settings were ISO 200, ss 1/400, f 1.8

I didn't think I'd ever see Barbies again. I've always looked forward to having little girls. I wanted to dress them up, put up their hair and watch them play dolls. Well, the dressing up and hair really only lasted until they were about 5 years old. They've never really liked playing with dolls and barbie interest was only about 5 minutes. Imagine my surprise when I saw a box with some barbies in it appear in the living room. I was even more shocked to see the girls playing with them. But...they don't really "play" with them. They dress them up and then ask me which one I like better. Of course, I have to say they are all beautiful or I will hear about it over and over. So, these are some of the barbies they have been dressing and undressing. The middle one with the plaid dress is the one they both think is "da bomb". LOL!
